I’m Tysheina McCoy, an Indigenous HR, recruitment, and operations leader with over 15 years of experience supporting employers across Canada.

I began my career in British Columbia working in HR within a large National manufacturing organization, gaining hands-on experience in workforce operations, labour environments, and organizational systems. This foundation led me into recruitment and, soon after, entrepreneurship—founding an Indigenous-focused recruitment firm supporting First Nations communities with workforce development, employment strategy, and capacity building. This work continues to shape my approach today.

I later moved into senior HR and general management roles within a large, fast-growing construction company, supporting organizational growth and complex workforce needs across industrial environments.

After relocating to Edmonton, I returned to recruitment within a globally recognized firm, where I consistently ranked among top performers Nationally, and later internationally, based on client outcomes, delivery quality, and long-term partnerships.

My work focused on senior professional and leadership roles across manufacturing, construction, and industrial sectors. Beyond hiring, I advised organizations and leaders on talent mapping, workforce planning, and long-term organizational design.

After years of advising on critical talent decisions, I saw a persistent gap between workforce realities and immigration pathways. Teemik was founded to close that gap—by combining real-world HR and operational leadership with licensed Canadian immigration expertise.
